Salesforce event linked to account and late-created opportunity
Taylor Jennings
When a meeting is booked before an opportunity exists, Chili Piper writes the event to the account but has no opportunity to link it to. If an opportunity is created later, the event record is not retroactively associated with it, leaving a gap in activity history at the opportunity level.
Customers are requesting that Chili Piper associate a Salesforce event with both the account and the opportunity, including cases where the opportunity is created after the event. This could work through a retroactive link when an opportunity is created on the same account, or through a manual reassociation option.
Sales teams running prospecting and early-stage meetings frequently book before an opportunity exists. Without retroactive linking, those meetings are invisible in the opportunity timeline, which distorts activity data and makes pipeline reporting less reliable as deal complexity grows.
